i think that betsy ross made the flag because she owned a sewing shop,had the five pointed star and she and George washington knew each other she had made flags before there were letters for proof there were letters signed by her daughter and her niece that betsy told them the story.The flag was also in Charles Willson Pealeś painting it shows that the flag was used before Congress
